New England Common Assessment Program
(NECAP)
Professional Development Materials for Mathematics
The purpose of the Grade-Level Expectations (GLEs)* resource materials
is to provide K - 8 educators with explanations and examples that facilitate
understanding of the mathematics in the Grade-Level Expectations (GLEs)*.
Examples are provided throughout the documents to illustrate definitions
or phrases used in the mathematics GLEs. However, the kinds of questions
students might be asked in instruction or on the NECAP assessment about
the mathematics being illustrated are NOT necessarily limited to the specific
examples given. It is the intent, over time, to add released NECAP items
to expand the set of examples.
The grade level links below will take you to the grade level expectations
(GLEs) for that grade which have links to the appropriate support materials
for the GLEs. At each grade level site, there is also a link to each grade’s
complete set of support materials, which can be downloaded as a Word or
PDF document, as well as a link to the complete GLEs. The support materials
for each of the four strands are available in both Word documents and in
pdf format.
