Students participate in activities that benefit the community and those in need. Students will brainstorm areas of need and activities to meet community needs. Activities will include a canned food drive, Toys for Tots, homework help with first graders at DES, promoting Women's History and Black History monts, working with the VA hospital and assisting senior citizens in the community.Click here to see the group working on the DMS courtyard. |

The purpose of the Courtyard Garden Club is to beautify and maintain the DMS courtyard while learning gardening skills. We will be designing and creating gardens and paths, then taking care of them.

The club will plan and discuss cultural events and activities that will be held throughout the year. Possible activities include after school dinner trips to restaurants, planning and coordinating World Language Week in April as well as trips to cultural art shows. This club is open to all students |

Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice the fundamental exercises to prepare them for stage performances. Students will learn to prepare as an actor, mentally, physically and vocally. Drama students will explore techniques of character development through analysis, improvisations and play. Students will learn basic theatre conventions and study stage composition. Most of all students will learn self control, and develop a keen sense of community through trust and collaboration while having fun. |
Students who are interested in contributing to Davisville Middle School's newspaper should join. Members brainstorm ideas, write articles, take pictures of school events, proofread articles, and have the chance to be involved im many other ways. Students on the newspaper staff will have a choice of being a reporter, an editor, a photographer, a writer, or a proofreader. Members will decide on the kinds or articles included in the paper as well as the layout. This is a wonderful opportunity for all students to get invovled in reporting the many events at DMS as well as in the community. All final decisions about the material included in The Dragon's Turf will be made under the guidance of the advisors. |
In order to try out each student must have
a physical, assumption of risk, and a permission form turned into the
school nurse. Tryouts for each sport will be announced by the coach
in school, two to three weeks in advance of the start of the season. |
Winter offerings: Winter 1- Table Tennis, Mr. Hoffer, Winter 2: Volleyball 1, Ms. Sahagian; Volleyball 2, Coach Brown Spring offerings: Team Sports, Mr. Synodi, Tennis, Ms. Sahagian Intramural activities are open to all girls and boys at DMS. They will be offered during the week on Monday through Thursday depending on the activity, from 2:30-3:45. There is a late bus on Tuesdays and Thursdays which picks up the students at 4 pm. On Mondays and Wednesdays, students must provide thier own transportation home. Each activity meets ten times. Advisors notify students of the meeting dates and times. |
Approximately one trip per month. This club
provides students with an opportunity to challenge themselves in a variety
of safe, outdoor environments. The members will determine what the trips
will be. In the past, the trips have included such activities as :skating,
rock climbing, bike riding and sledding. |
The Student Council consists of a president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, social chairperson and a representative and alternate from each homeroom. These students are elected by their peers and represent the student body. The Student Council provides a variety of school and community activities. These activities include: Food Drives, Pennies for Patients, (which is a fund raiser for the Lukemia Society), and the Laugh Olympics. |

The yearbook staff membership is open to
all students willing to make a yearlong commitment. Meetings are held
in S-5. In addition to the after school meetings the yearbook staff
meets one or two Saturdays a month. Interested students are required
to bring a signed permission slip to their first meeting. |
Advisors: Mrs. White and Mr. Enright Youth to Youth is an organization that allows students to meet, mingle, and talk with students of other grades and teams. It is also an organization that allows students to discuss issues related to them and affords an opportunity for fun after-school activities. We try to plan a meeting and / or field trip once a month. Some examples of trips we took in the past few years are bowling, holiday shopping, swimming, indoor rock climbing, and rollerblading. We also occasionally meet to discuss important topics. Please contact Mr. Enright or Mrs. white for further information. |
Students meet on Tuesday mornings to work on the school website. No prior experience needed! The club is open to all students who would like to learn how to how to create and maintain a web site!

Advisor: Ms. Barden, Mr. Gilmartin Meets: Tuesday after school until 4:00p.m. The Environmental Club is a club helps to improve the environment. The club will raise salmon, grow eel grass, and work with Save The Bay. The club will be doing trash pick ups and make models of where pollution comes from. To learn more click here.
