Reading Specialists: Ms. Boisclair Teams D and R; Mrs. Deignan Teams A and G
First quarter has been a busy, academic time in Reading class. We have read a few short stories focusing on “characterization” and “setting”. The students “characterized” themselves by writing a short autobiographical sketch. They have also analyzed characters in stories we have read in class. To do this, students must think on a critical, more abstract level and try to “get into the author’s head” by explaining things such as: characters’ motives, moods, personality traits, and types.
As always, students are encouraged to read (at least 20 minutes) daily, do all of their homework (on time), get plenty of sleep each night, and eat a healthy breakfast before school each morning. These little tips can help all students be successful in all areas!
