Mrs. Noble's and Mrs. Cahill's Language Arts students have been doing a how-to project which consists of an essay and a demonstration. Students must write an essay on how to do something that is unique and not many people know how to do. They also do a demonstration in the front of the class.
1. Students must plan their demonstration. It should be about 5 minutes.
2.They must make sure steps are in order and use transitional words. The demonstration steps must be included in the essay.
Students must be very specific.
3.All materials or ingredients must be listed in the essay.
4.Students could either use a poster or a the real thing as a prop.
5.The essay must be passed in on the day of the presentation.
Some examples of the how-to project were: an ice cream sundae, milk shakes, and origami boxes. Below are some pictures from the "how to" demonstrations.
