Mr. Lane's 4th period social studies class and advisory are representing the Wickford Middle School recycling program. Our program's name is ROC(Recycle for Our Community). We are requesting support to start our project. We are making no guarantees of our proposal but we have tow main goals for our business. Our first goal it to help the environment by recycling more in our school and other locations. We want to improve our surroundings so it is healthy for everyone. Did you know that in six years the Johnston central landfill will reach its full capacity? Then we'll have to find another place to put all our trash. we are determined to keep that from happening. We're considering recycling paper first, and then once we have mastered that we would like to continue with aluminum cans. Our second goal is to improve our school with compensation from the recycling companies where we bring our recyclables. If students don't want to volunteer to work, they can still bring/donate paper and cans for our use. We hope you will consider ROC to be in our school system.
