Rubrics and Writing Expectations

This rubric is intended for use across the curriculum for any problem solving activity.

Score Criteria

The method used is clear and thoughtful and is easily understood. There is a well-organized description of the problem, plan, work, and solution. Appropriate and logical reasoning is evident and the response is accurate and complete

The method used could lead to a correct solution, but contains some flaws or false assumptions. The description is clear in some areas but not others. Appropriate and logical reasoning is evident. The response is mostly accurate and complete and shows good understanding.

The method used is not clear and may contain flaws in reasoning. The response is neither accurate nor complete but shows some understanding

The method is unclear or would not lead to a correct solution. There is an incomplete or vague description of the problem,plan, work, and solution. The response indicates limited understanding and there may be incorrect application of skills or procedures.

CONVENTIONS
