Every school in the state has a School Improvement Team ( SIT ); it is part of the SALT cycle. The function of this team is to review data from the SALT survey as well as other sources and develop and implement a School Improvement Plan. This year's school improvement plan is a comprehensive one focusing on establishing schooled strategies which will lead to improvement in the areas of literacy and numeracy. Click here to view the WMS plan in its entirety.

The School Advisory Committee (SAC) was instituted in North Kingstown in 1996. Each school in the district has a SAC, which is comprised of elected members of the school community. The purpose of the SAC is to "...provide parents, teachers and community members with a forum to discuss and resolve school issues and policies." After discussing and researching topics the committee may make recommendations for change to the building principal.
