Dear Preschool Families,
The Preschool team would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
We are ready to start the new year with new experiences, growth, and learning.
I would like to introduce you to our new preschool mascot and LOGO. Please meet “Skippy the
Otter”!
I am happy to announce that the preschool playground is ready for our students to explore and engage in Gross Motor play. The following requirements are necessary to ensure everyone is safe when playing outdoors.
Clothing Items:
During hot, sunny days:
Please apply sunscreen before school
Provide a hat to shield from the sun
During cold weather, please send your child to school with the following items:
Jackets Mittens **Snow Pants(when required)
Hats Boots
Sneakers are encouraged each day for comfort and safety on the playground and throughout the day.
General Temperature Guidelines (Based on ECERS-3 principles & common child care practice/Bright Stars Quality Rating System):
Above 90°F (32°C): Use caution, consider shade, shorter times, or move indoors, especially with high humidity.
Below 20-30°F (-7 to -1°C): Be very cautious; limit time, especially if wind chill makes it feel colder (e.g., below 0°F/-18°C wind chill is often a stop point).
Ideal Range: Many suggest 30°F to 90°F (-1°C to 32°C) as a good range for outdoor play.

The preschool lottery application for the 2026-27 school year is posted on our ELC webpage. The lottery is chosen at the beginning of March. If you already have a child enrolled in the AM program and would like your child to attend the PM session in September 2026, please complete the application by Friday, February 13, 2026. If we do not receive your application, your spot will be filled by a new community peer. The tuition for the 2026-27 school year will be determined prior to June.
**Please be sure to pick your child up at the assigned time: AM 11:00 and PM 2:40.
