Newsletter

Dear Forest Park Families,

As we move through these first few weeks of school, I want to offer a gentle reminder that the beginning of a new school year is an adjustment for everyone. New teachers, new classmates, new routines, and new expectations can take some time for students to get used to—even when they are excited to be back at school.

You may notice that your child comes home tired, needs a little extra reassurance, or experiences some big emotions as they settle into their new routine. This is completely normal. For many students, it takes several weeks for the routines and rhythms of a new school year to begin to feel comfortable and familiar.

Our teachers are spending these early weeks building relationships, establishing routines,

practicing expectations, and helping students feel safe, connected, and confident at school.

Connection, consistency, patience, and encouragement are especially important during this

time.

Please give your children—and yourselves—some grace as we settle in together. If your child is having a difficult time adjusting or you have a concern you would like to discuss, please reach out to us. We are always happy to partner with you and support your child.

Finally, please take a moment to review the informational flyers included below, particularly our Open House flyer. Our Open House is scheduled for next Wednesday evening, and we look forward to welcoming you to Forest Park.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please continue to reach out to me.

In partnership,

Joseph S. Rotz

Principal
