It has come to the District's attention that a local small business has recently received fundraising phone calls and emails claiming to support North Kingstown Athletics, specifically the NKHS Boys Basketball team.
The caller is reportedly soliciting cash donations in exchange for advertising local businesses on a "spirit t-shirt," and is using the company name "The Spirit Star."
Please be advised that none of our athletic teams, including the NKHS Boys Basketball team, are involved in any such fundraiser. We have reported this scam to the North Kingstown Police Department. We urge everyone to remain cautious when receiving fundraising calls or emails.
If you are ever uncertain about the legitimacy of a school fundraising effort, please contact the NK Athletics Department or the Superintendent's Office to verify its legitimacy.
