Preschool Orientation:

The NKSD school calendar is posted on the NKSD website and will include the date for the Pre-K orientation, which is held at the beginning of the new school year. 

• Each family will receive an orientation sign-up via email prior to the orientation date. 

• Each family will have a 15-minute visit in their child’s classroom with their classroom teacher.

Parent/Teacher Conferences:

Each year, there is one scheduled parent/teacher conference in November. This date can be found on the NKSD school calendar. During this time, families will meet with their child's teacher to discuss:

• Entry-level classroom data is collected in all developmental areas. 

• How their child has adjusted to school 

• Topics that families would like to talk about

• Parent/teacher communication

**Parents are always welcome to schedule a conference with their child’s teacher at any time during the school year. 

Family Communication:

The Preschool program will be using Google Classroom for all communication with parents. Each student has been assigned a gmail account at registration. Please use this email to access your child’s Google Classroom. Communication between home and school will include:

• Newsletters                                   

• Shared activities

• Posted pictures  

• Classroom and School updates

• Forms from parents and teachers will be sent virtually through Google Classroom. 

*Guidance on how to access your child’s Google Classroom will be given to each family.

Parent Volunteers
